Accuro is led by an experienced and energetic management team comprising Anita Hamilton Ph.D., Graham Carter Ph.D. and John Brotchie BA, ACMA.

Anita Hamilton and Graham Carter provide significant industry experience of conducting humanisation and other contract biological services. Both were instrumental in the development of the DeImmunisation® technology platform and together have participated in all of the contract service works of their previous employer Biovation.

John Brotchie provides extensive commercial experience in financial and contract affairs. Previously acting as a financial consultant to Merck KGaA and Biovation, John Brotchie is contributing significant accounting, finance and business expertise and support to Accuro Biologics on its way forward.

Anita Hamilton Ph.D. - Scientific Director

Dr. Hamilton is a Molecular Biologist by training with a background in antibody engineering. Dr Hamilton previously held senior research positions at Scotgen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. and Biocure Ltd. Dr Hamilton joined Biovation as Research Manager in 1996, became Senior Research Manager and was promoted to Vice President Therapeutic Antibody Discovery in 2003. Dr Hamilton was in charge of all the contract research programmes undertaken at Biovation up to 2005 and is a co-inventor of DeImmunisation® technology. The research teams managed by Dr Hamilton at Biovation and previously at Scotgen have successfully humanised or applied DeImmunisation® to over 40 therapeutic antibodies. Dr Hamilton is co-author of 12 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor on 31 published patents.

Graham Carter Ph.D. - Managing Director

Dr. Carter is a Molecular Biologist by training with a background in oncology. Holding positions within the Leukaemia Research Fund laboratories in Cardiff and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund clinical research group in London he established a significant track record in research. Dr Carter joined Biovation in Aberdeen in 1996 as a Research Manager and progressed to oversee Intellectual Property affairs as Biovation became part of the Merck group in 2000. Dr Carter held senior responsibility for Business Development and Intellectual Property matters to 2005. Dr Carter is co-author of 25 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor on 26 published patents.

John Brotchie BA, ACMA - Finance Director

Mr Brotchie is an experienced Finance Director of SME companies. Prior to founding Accuro Biologics, Mr Brotchie was for four years a consultant to Biovation and its parent company Merck KGaA. Mr Brotchie qualified as an accountant (CIMA) in 1988 and has worked overseas in the Philippines and Bermuda and was finance director of an international firm of management consultants based in London for seven years. Mr Brotchie returned to Scotland in 1998 and has subsequently formed his own consultancy and worked with a number of successful high-growth entities in the Aberdeen area.
